Oriantal Banquet Lunch Buffet

"Your offer is 150% higher than XXX"

"Your price is expensive!"

"If you match your competitor price, I will certainly buy from you."

"..."

Such comments I hear time after time. I even unintentionally use it back to the seller when I tried to negotiate some time.

But, should we focus on price instead of value? Why there are businesses charging "expensive" but people keep coming back? Is it because they are lucky or they have hell a lot of great salesman working very hard?

A business will prosper if you have unique advantage and value offer to your customer.

So, why give special discount or further lower your earning if you know you are already giving more than your competitor?

As Zig Zigler said:"Good things never cheap, cheap things seldom good.", Oriantal group of restaurants offer great value to its customer. I will be happily going back again and again, whenever my pocket is filled.

Oshi @ Jatuchak

Oshi, a rather well run Japanese buffet restaurant in Jatuchak area, near Sofitel.

I was there about 8 years ago during my first working trip. It still running well until today. But one thing strange, for so many years, the deco and the food all exactly the same. Nothing change.

Great BBQ party for a factory opening.

The company I work had just shifted to a new factory in Balakong recently. Boss suggested to have a simple opening ceremony. Therefore, a simple yet surprisingly good catering BBQ was served. I managed to snap some pictures and I thought why not to show it here.

BBQ lamb do it at site. Fresh and tender. We finished it at no time!

Very large prawn, BBQ. Seldom see it done like this.

Pan fried sotong. Of cause it is my favorite!

BBQ chicken.

Pan fried fish. Mass production with consistent quality.

Professional service at site. Of cause there were other cooked food, which I missed out the picture. Busy taken care of our visitors that day.

Shangri la Putrajaya

PUTRAJAYA is a wonderful town. Whoever visited there sure amazed by the money our government pouring into the project. From the "Sim City" style of building to its special designed street dustbin, we can see the effort of its creator to showcase its uniqueness to the world.

However, in such a
massive structures site, lies nothing at night. Visitors just wondering around the square full of lights but no food. Can't even find a single shop or stall selling drinks after 9pm.

Nobody will think of going to the area for food. That's what my colleague reaction when I first suggest to bring our company guests there for dinner and a night outing. Crazy me, they said.

I thought since
Shangri la KL's buffet receive such a great review, its sister hotel in Putrajaya should not be far aside. Quality of food should have guaranteed, just the number of choice might see limitation because of very few dinner seeker walking in.

Fresh oyster very well presented in the bar. I thought they grown from the ice.

Grilled lamb, freshly slice whenever you wish.

This is my favourite baked creamy sotong. Yum yum!

Pan fry satay, not BBQ. But I can tell you the taste nothing less than the original Kajang satay. Fantastic piece of creation!

Marvelous presentation! Tasty meal.

Oh! The deserts were so sweet.

Just pick one, although you might wanna have it all!

Gamble in Genting?

Gambling, an activity love by billion, but since we know how to eat, we had been told it is a very bad habit . It is illegal to gamble if you are not at legal age and legal place like Genting, here in Malaysia. And that's why millions of people flock up to that little hill each year to look for sudden rich.

Read it somewhere that there is two nation love gambling the most, Chinese and English. They bet everything, from football, racing, who wins the minister ship to even when David Beckham will divorce. Unbelievable!

I am not going to waste too much time writing about this because "gambling" alone is already a heavy topic. We can even zoom in to look at the socialeconomic espect, human phycology implication, organism behaviour, etc. Plenty of research topic can be focus and many thesis can be written from.

What I know is life is a game. We have rules to follow and we play by it. If we are skillful and lucky enough, we win. Sometimes we loose. Everyday we make choices, we make decision. We take risk, and we should be prepared to loose.

Many moments we have choices to choose and decision to make. These all based on our experience, needs, and "feelings". If this is not gambling, then what?

So, we live life as a gambler. If we won, its just part of the game. We move on to face another challenge. If we loose? It is also a part of the game. We got to move on and face another round. As long as we don't bet everything we have, and play it smart, game will carry on, until THE END.

Picture taken at the entrance of Coffee Terrace, in Genting. Not a coffee house as it sound, but a fine buffet court.

Chinese food freshly cook at the bar. Look at that fire! Hot food served, for sure.

Plenty of dishes served. From Indian, Chinese, Malay to western cuisine. If you tend to try all, be prepared to be very very full.

See those hot pot? How can you try them all? So many.

Lady Sifu is doing Chinese Ramien.

Her hand is faster than the camera speed. Thus, noodle unseen.

Ramien hand made from the lady Sifu. Yum yum yum.

A table of food fresh and hot from the counter. Eat all you can!

I like this steam chicken drum steak with herbs. It make me feel "healthy".

Oh! They serve satay also. By the way.

Curry noodle must try, since its my favorite.

Desert looks so tempting. Like armies lining up to kill your stomach.
