But when the time comes that a man has had his dinner, then the true man comes to the surface. - Mark Twain

Pastamania @ SG
Pasta fast food. Not very special. Just a place to quickly to recharge your energy with reasonable taste.

Barroca @ SG

I thought why should I lock myself in that tiny island?
What he said that time make little sense. I was not a family man then. I was so sensitive to the legendary rules and regulations rumors. Imagine they can't enjoy chewing gum!

l can not remember when I took these pictures.
However, I can recall the taste and experience dining there. Reasonable price, fine food and crowded place.
So, the place seems nice. But why I did not pen it down earlier?
Good question!
Well, I messed up the pictures. And take no initiative to dig them out.
Another question. Did I revisit the restaurant?
No.
But why?
Well, just because I was not usually hanging around there does not mean the place is lame.

Mark's Big Day...
Mark's memorable "big day" was not because of food.
Makan is only my day to day necessity.
Celebration is nothing when no appreciation.
Party is lausy when only zombies dancing and screaming around.
Where is my heart?
Where is your heart?
Happy that special feeling when someone remember you out of your expectation.
Touched when you know her had put in so much beyond life...

Kick & Shrimp... fresh prawn marinated with sour and spicy sauces.
Onion loaf... really large loaf of giant onion!

Food Foundry... nice food found
I guess people hanging around PJ will know this little shop selling fine western cuisine at student price. I was brought to the place, which suppose to be an area full with hawker food. Surprise to know there is Western food offer here, and a very "fine" one.

Look Out Point... Romantic Site
Can you name me any romantic place to have a passion dinner with your "one" in KL? Oh! Plenty for sure. Just flick your RM notes and you can have a fascinating candle light on top of KL tower. Or a boat cuisine in the Putrajaya Lake.
Through you another task. With less than 35 bucks, how can you find a better place to have dinner in view of the entire KL? Yes! KL view with western cuisine, at Look Out Point, in Ampang.

Started with a ... err, soup? Or some creamy milky water...

Restaurent Cafe De Sky Garden... Vegetarian in style
Hiding in a remote place somewhere near Kampung Medan, Sunway found a fantastic vegetarian western style cuisine.
Environment of the restaurant felt very English. Serving pastry, cakes, and coffee and tea. In vegetarian style.
Me myself, a typical carnivore also felt impress with the set up. How about you?
Pretty nice place for a cup of tea in the afternoon.

Oshi Rice. Japanese style fried rice with sea wheat and artificial prawn. Full of sea flavor.

Flogger gathering @ Sandias

Millions "xie xie" to Boo_licious from masak-masak to organise such a fantastic dinner gathering for all food lovers. And Babe in the City to form our group Floggers.
First time to meet so many new friends, slightly shy. (Am I?)
But hey, we had a great Mexican cuisine in Sandias at Plaza Damansara, few hours ago.
I do not think I should elaborate too much about the food as you can find plenty of photos and comments out there for sure. Those fine Maxican delight had just open my taste of life, again.
Busy schedule and hectic life lately had made me slow down in my eating journey (and that's why I am a tidy little slimmer), but a few hours spending with a gang sharing same interest is worth a million.

Taquitos Fritos

Pescado a la Veracruzana

Postre Helado de Eimon
Dun ask me what those names mean, I just copy them from the menu. Can't expect too much from a Chinaman right?

Big Plate Restaurent at Subang Permai... Wow!
When I heard about Big Plate Restaurant, I thought it is just like Papa Chop & Mama Grill, cheap western food that serve cheap. Furthermore, my friend told me that the price is quite reasonable. This strengthen my perception that it is cheap and serve tonnes of food to value your stomach.
We face no difficult to reach Subang Permai. However, it took us a while to find the restaurant as the sign was not bright and big enough.
Simple interial decoration with very deem lights double confirmed my previous thought. But, I nearly dropped my eye when I saw the menu. The price was about 50% higher than PapaMama. I thought somebody must have recommended wrongly and I was planning to write a negative review.
Sometimes man makes decision too fast. Or maybe when we are expecting the worst while receiving good things, it end up we are much appreciated the results.
Food served was fantastic. Simple decoration, low cost environment and all other cost cutting contributed directly to the main focus, the food. Food served were well decorated, well presentation, and taste even better than some very high end restaurants. The main things is, those plates were huge, and they are full!
Good food in very large portion, Big Plate, ain't kidding.
Restaurant looks simple and hiding in remote place. Crowd come from words of mouth.

Grilled chicken (Ayam Shah Alam) came with half chicken plus well decorated salad. All nicely cook and I could not resists to finish it all.

Mushroom soup served in XXL size bun. Enough for 2 persons.
Tomato soup was better than mushroom soup. Equally large.
My sis ordered a sandwich plate, thought to have a light meal. But look at those tuna and the bread and all those chips, I can't believe it cost us only RM7.
Grill ikan tenggiri, local fish cooked with western style. Well done for the cook to married both local and west. You got to eat it to know it.
Pasta also very yummy. The greens was different from the Ayam Shah Alam. This serve with kiwi and dragon fruits.

F1... not the speed, but the theme.
I guess F1 is very famous among students. I had my first meal many years ago in Serdang and it was fantastic.
When I moved to Puchong, the place was blessed with a branch of F1 just beside IOI Mall. Business was crazy good. I love its cheesy chicken chop and fried bun.
Then, after I moved away from Puchong. The restaurant sadly disappear with no sign no where.
It cannot be that they close the shop because of me right? Anyway, I never thought that it was business that cause it to close down, either.
Months later, I notice it reappear in IOI Mall itself. And months after that, another branch open at Bandar Putri, new shops at Giant area.
Now, F1 is everywhere, just like our Kopitiam. But the food is never be the same again. I am not sure is the environment changed or the chef's student never learn properly. I do hope one day the food will improve to they used to be.

Mr Ho's Fine Food in Mid Velly

Anyhow, the beer was just imported, not that special for some people. But the chef made a wonderful job on the fresh meat. We used to eat rosted pork rice here. However, the texture was tender and juicy. It was merinated just nice. Most of the ingredients in the shop are imported. The owner spend time wondering arround the globe to bring in special drink in bottle, meat, and even the cook.
