Steamboat @ Puchong.

Had a chat with a Malaysian buddy in Shanghai regarding recent political scenario here.

He was saying even if there is big change come this September 16, the rakyat can only hope for a better tomorrow but cannot be certain for a better future.

I was thinking...

We live life because of hope.

We hope for promotion and better increment so we work hard each day.
We hope to be taken care of so we taking care of our young.
We hope to be loved so we search for love.

A person will only kill himself when there is no more hope.
A person kill because of hope.

There is fierce competition in food service industry nowadays. Restaurant hope to gain the market by cracking up new ideas.

Steamboat boil with gas is common. But steamboat cook with charcoal is something special.

It's a gimmick? But it works. And the shop has been around for awhile already.

It's a charcoal stove! No gas require.

Low Maji @ Bandar Puteri Puchong

Food business in Klang Valley is booming. We can see restaurent and eatery shops mushrooming everywhere. In new developed commercial area, we can see more than 50% of the shops open to serve food. Some just a simple food court, but most had been carefully renovated with unique branding in mind.

I guess one of the reason for this trend is everybody thought food business is cash business. You buy material with credit but you sell in cash. No collection or debtors issues. Further to that, Malaysian do love eating. Eating has become our culture.

But with such fierce competition, how can one stand out and attract the crowd? And the main survivor of a business is repurchase from existing customer. So, things still come back to the fundamental: the quality of food serve. Yes, the food can be unique and nicely decorated. But if it taste like garbage, it will only ment for the rats.

This Low Maji shop has very nice design and concept. Their Malak stemboat is rather unique. I like the stock soup's taste and the way it serve. But choices of dish and freshness of the seafood need to be improve.

Overall, it is worth for a try to experience a buffet steamboat that really can numb your tongue and mouth.

Well presented food, but limited choice.

If the freshness of those seafood can be improved, it will be even better.

I like the soup. The normal herb soup gave me a very healthy feeling. While the Malak red chilli pepper herb soup really numb my tongue and mouth. Strange experience for the mouth and stomarch.

Tian Yuen Seafood Porridge Steamboat

Steamboat is a very popular type of food. It is easy to prepare, healthy to eat (depends on what you put into the soup) and you can DIY your food (pretend to be a cook?).

This was the first time I ate my steamboat using porridge as the base. It was very new and I could not imagine how to eat my food.

The waiter offered to help and he sieve the egg into the pot of porridge to make it smells fantastic.

We dumb in all those seafood and suddenly I realised that the porridge had become so sweet and tasty. Literally we were cooking seafood porridge!

Fresh seafood and other vegetables make you feel healthy.

After cooked, I am not sure I should finish the porridge or just take the stuff like I used to eat steamboat. All the goodness has been into the porridge!

East Seafood Village Special Steamboat... Really Special

I see alot of steamboat restaurant mushrooming everywhere lately. In Puchong especially, the area has become famous of steamboat.

I still could not understand why people like steamboat? I
mean I have been having steamboat since I was very young. My family in Kuantan likes to have steamboat on every occasion, either we do it at house or have it at restaurant.

My mother prefer it to be made at house. she could prepare all those nice stuff which she loves and enjoy it all night long. She said it is easy to prepare and nice to eat. Sommore healthy.

For me, steamboat come with beer is the best things. But the heat and sweat with my crab red face after beer need some patient to handl
e it. If I would have it in some cold windy place like Cameron Highland, should that be better?

Most of the steamboat serve with fish cake, prawns, chicken, vegetables, eggs and noodle in soup or tomyam. You can't really say which shop serve the best. But the one below really special. I could not believe it when I saw those seafood on the plate. I stop my mind to ask for a beer when I smell the heavy alcoholic soup served.

Fresh crab, mussels, mushrooms, oyster, etc. Truly seafood steamboat.

All in a claypot with Chinese wine soup. Sweet and strong. You will love it if you like fresh seafood and alcohol.
