Crayon Burger @ Subang Jaya

Unique specialty burger is getting trendy lately. Price is slightly expensive than Carl's Junior but they use quality ingredients and taste good.

My friend told me that this restaurant is making decent business since day one. I can see how they enjoy their profits with regular stream of patrons.

Happy Meal @ TGI Friday Subang

It is very hard to spend our Monday like today. We have to wake up so early that we wish we were sick for MC. Rushing to work just knowing that you have tonnes of tasks to be settled in no time. No matter how many cup of coffee you drink, you still wonder where the caffeine goes.

Rasa Thai @ Subang Parade

Restaurent at Subang Parade mainly business for working lunch. The crowd is not as pack in the weekend.

Normally I have no high hope for these "canteen" food. Working people normally look for economic, fast and "okay" food.

So, I never thought there is nice food available there until sis took us there one fine evening.

Price is okay and it is not as ordinary as Secret Recipe nor McD.

Restoran Sin Leong Huat @ Subang Hi Tech

I still remember my very first dish in this Sin Leong Huat restaurant. It was a very delicious pork knuckle. There were pig legs on every table and I was amazed there were so many pigs as our feed.

Nowadays we know there are few other restaurants in the valley prepare the same specialty every day. I think most of the legs go to these places and the the body become “cha siu”.

Beside heavy, meaty, oily and cholesterol food, sometime I go for simple yet special like the three below.

18122009177

Fish head Bihum… a little lame on the milk, a little strong for the sour.

18122009176

“Dong fen” with ginkgo… special.

18122009175

”Kue Teow” fried with vegetable… beware of the cili padi.

Han Woo Ri @ Taipan

Seldom visit restaurant operate in a suppose office lot. Right up in the 3r floor. When you out from the lift, 2 nice waiter greeted you right to your table. No escape. Like it or not, you are trapped once enter the lift.

Lucky the food is not bad and the price also reasonable.

But I still have no urge to drop by again. Maybe is just me not a Korean person, or the dishes there could not weld into my memories of tastes.

Ah Heng Laksa @ Summit USJ

I think this shop closed already at Submit USJ.
Too bad it can't wait until my post.
And too bad actually the food is not too bad though.

Hong Lim Dim Sum @ Subang

Besides Pun Choi, this restaurant also serve nice Dim Sum in the morning.

Go have a try and its reasonable price with good quality food. Satisfied customer I am.

Started with the typical one.

Yummy mash yam "芋泥"

My favorite chicken feet, or the so call "phoenix feet".

Fried dragon beard. 炸龙蓄

Curry chicken bread.

Lotus leave rice.

Pun Choi 盘菜 @ Subang

Growing in a conserve family, mother has trained us well to not waste any.

We finish all our food each time. The lights should turn off when it is bright enough. Off TV when not watching. Drink just enough water (kidding).

But no kidding, when I cook, I tend to do it simple. "Ham Pa Lang" (All) in one pot and eat as it is (eat with the pot).

Bee Ho Steamboat @ SS15 Subang

Last Sunday, boiling steamboat image suddenly pop up in my mind and I wonder is there any good steamboat in Subang?

Can't recall seeing any around there. I kinda lost my gut feeling to hunt also.

So, I did the smartest way. I Google for steamboat in Subang and within a second, hualaa... KYSpeak gave me the inspiration!

Dessert Bar @ Subang Parade

It has been some time since my last post. Not that I ate nothing lately (although I was having serious tooth ache that cause me slimmer :) , it has been busy work life lately.

*******

Few weeks back when I was paktorring in Subang Parade, saw a kiosk call Dessert Bar. Pretty creative. But I did not see a good market acceptance on it. Maybe the price over product, or the idea just not click with the market yet.

New product is always risky, but adventurous.

Margareta ice, non alcoholic :(

Champain jelly, non alcoholic :(

Chicken Rice @ USJ

There is one food court in USJ, at the left hand side of the main road from Summit to Puchong, selling very good chicken rice in the evening.

All tables are waiting for the same food.

"kai si hor fan"

Steam chicken.

Meat balls.

There is something inside the balls.

Err... Chicken rice, must have "tau ge" right?

21.11.07

Takiyaki... Sotong ball I like

I love sotong (squid) more than any other seafood. That's why I love to watch Pirates of the Caribbean. It keep my imagination on how to cook that squid.

Asia Cafe in Subang has one stall selling Takiyaki. Sure I need to give it a try.

26.7.07

Ah Koong @ Taipan USJ

The shop has been around many years already and it was originated in JB. I am not sure if it relates to Tun Lim's son, but I saw lots of their pictures hanging on the wall.

Mark goes... Vegetarian?!!

There was once I heard an old lady said she is practicing 30 days of vegetarian because of honoring her wish to God. I saw her will and felt her sense of determination. Weather she did that for her family or her own self, I am pretty sure someone out there must have touched.

Many years ago when I did my industrial training in Kepong, I had two vegetarian colleagues. I had every breakfast and lunch the vegetarian way for more than 3 months and it was such a heavy experience. They said that clear their body and calm the emotion down. I thought I was having some emotion problem then. Still remember my breath got chocked and heart stopped when I saw my mum cooked vegetables at home that time.

I am not against vegetarian and I strongly believe it is something really meaningful to do that. I might even be a full vegetarian one day. But of cause my friends will never believe that day will come for me.

Actually it is not a necessity for Buddhist to be a vegetarian. And I do think it is not very appropriate for a man to eat only vegetable because he has something looking forward for. Being a vegetarian because one seen the suffering of killing, feel the pain and sorrow. Vegetarian hope to reduce the pain and bring happiness for all beings.

Too ambitious statement? I read it somewhere and I truly believe that.

Buy hey, go tell a lion to eat carrot and prove Darwin's theory stupid then. Everyone has its own food to survive, and mine is chicken feet, bak kut teh and sotong.

As long as I don't waste my food and think of the poor and needs. I think I am still okay. Keep our mind simple and live this life the fullness!

This vegetarian restaurant situated at Subang Jaya, opposite Metropolitan College, across the main NPE road. Easy to find, nice food to eat.

Three dish in a plate. Normal for any formal course meal in Chinese. But those were all non-meat.

Tofu with mussels like mushroom. Not bad.

This is their famous dish, curry mutton. Its my favorite too! Strange that I did tasted mutton flavor in those cube. Very thick and creamy curry.

Oh! Its a fish, with the taste of fish derived from seaweed.

And this is something puzzle my head since long time ago. It's called roasted duck. But no matter how I look at it, I could not imagine any duck. I would just call it deep fried "fu jok", enough.

Picture taken a "real" vegetarian food. Sweet potato leaves in fermented tofu. Don't you think vegetarian should serve greens instead of imitation of fish, meat and duck?

26.12.06

Yaw Fat Restaurent in Summit USJ.

Can we find good food in Summit USJ? Never thought so? You are not right!

There is one restaurant at the 2nd floor serving reasonable good foods. From Bak Kut Teh to curry mee, all prepared from a single kitchen.

Summit has little to shop, but if you stay around there, why not find a day for movie (less people to fight for your sit) and have some interesting hawker food in a shop in a shopping mall?

I always believe good curry noodle should serve with steam white chicken. This shop gives me the entire drum stick!

"Gon Lou Horfan" with mushroom chicken. One of my favourite there. It tasted so thick and the "Horfan" as smooth as it was from Ipoh.

Well, this is the shop. Remember it!

Seafood in Asia Cafe

Asia Cafe in Subang offer some very nice foods and very pretty chic. In Good Food. Good Life.: The Ultimate Clay Pot Chicken Rice, I thought the stall offer fantastic clay pot chicken rice (of course after that I found few more stalls selling far more better rice).

I go there on and off and when I have no idea what to eat. This time around, I tried the few BBQ fish stalls and tell you, the food not bad. No wonder many people go there to have those spicy seafood.

Other food? Not very impressive, I thought.

"Kam Heong Lala" was good. But I more prefer the one in Puchong food court.

I don't think this "chicken fish" looks like chicken, but it certainly taste a little bit like chicken, especially the texture. Well cooked and presented.

Well, we had other food as well. This tomyam fried noodle was too salty and spicy. Not impressive.

The Vietnam chicken rice owner was from Segamat. Good cook.
