Waraku @ Singapore

The first time I ate at Waraku, I was so confused I though I was in the wrong place. The food seems Italian, but the setting very Japanese.

They said it serves Japanese style pizza and oriental taste pasta. I wonder Moshi moshi_san will ever enjoy Italian style sushi in Kuala Lumpur.

Normally we, the third kind (not Japanese nor Italian) will not choose a 'pirate' dish if we can have the 'original copy'. Moreover, I am not in Japan, I have plenty of choices here.

But after I had my first time, I agree why they claim 'Promising... of the year'.
I have a very fond feeling when I saw their branch in Sunway Pyramid.

Oshi @ Jatuchak

Oshi, a rather well run Japanese buffet restaurant in Jatuchak area, near Sofitel.

I was there about 8 years ago during my first working trip. It still running well until today. But one thing strange, for so many years, the deco and the food all exactly the same. Nothing change.

Sushi Zanmai @ Garden Mid Valley

The world says that a man need to pay for the bill when he dines with a lady. If he dines with another man he must also pretend to be generous to pay.

That's why a professional female salesperson has certain advantage when dealing with Mr Uncle-Customer. Can he feels not appreciated when a young lady pay for his meal?

However, bear in mind that a too sexy thing might give negative effect on your product. Those uncles might not be able to differentiate your product with the delicacy of your representative.

I am not used to let girl pay for my bill. Maybe I am a little ego, or I just do not have the looks like F4. Uncle is the one should pay for the lunch right?

That is why it is so memorable when she pays for the Sushi Zanmai.

Sometimes, a little odd makes your life spark.

Celebration for her new job's pay day. I "tumpang gembira".

Raku Zen @ Plaza Damas

I felt "strange" when I had my first sushi.
I was barely teen that time and as you know, I crave for "high risk" food since I was 0.1 days old.
So, with such plain, cold, fishy and expensive food placing in my mouth, I wonder how "poor" Japanese was.

Well, time past and things change. I love Japanese nowadays. Appreciate the detail of the work, the creativity and the art.

I love the attack of Wasabi. People says no pain no gain. This Japanese style of SM rape my bud nicely.

Eating chili is long lasting pain. It burn slowly along your digesting track till the ceramic bowl when it travels out. But Wasabi attack is always hard and fast. just like dripping wax on your skin. Sudden pain then gone with nothing. Japanese style, short pain, gain more.

Wasabi in "leaf".

Crabby California Roll.

I love BBQ babes... they are hot!

Sotong!

Oh! Frozen strawberries with creams.

Ice-cream wafer.

Takiyaki... Sotong ball I like

I love sotong (squid) more than any other seafood. That's why I love to watch Pirates of the Caribbean. It keep my imagination on how to cook that squid.

Asia Cafe in Subang has one stall selling Takiyaki. Sure I need to give it a try.

Birthday Dinner @ Zen Sunway

I usually do not have big celebration. Simple dinner is enough for me to be happy. Only twice in my life I had a big party at house for my friends. I do enjoy my friends' wishes and loves. It just myth that to keep lower profile during birthday for a better year. Strange? I also thought so.

Last year it felt on the Chinese New Year day and I virtually had the entire world celebrate with me. This year it fall a bit earlier and I had to find some place to treat myself slightly better.

Japanese seems good. So, I went to this Zen Restaurant at Sunway Pyramid. A nicely built eating place with fantastic food. A good place to sit by the window and look at the street. A good place to sit comfort and enjoy some fine sashimi. A good place to make a wish for a better year a head. Good food, good life!

Forget what's these bean called already (hey, I am Chinaman, not Japanese laa), but I love it very much.

Sushi set dinner with udon soup. Nice.

Sashimi set. I felt like a cat eating those raw fish. enjoyable as it feel kind of healthy and I love wasabi.

Japanese... sayonara.

I had been in the dilemma for write or not write about this article. When I started to write about food, my intention was to share about food I enjoy. However, after times dining at various food spots, I become more and more critic.

I could not always promoting food. Some of my friends even doubt my credibility. They thought I am hard selling some restaurant, which was not up to their standard.

Taste is different from a person to person. I might like chocolate, but not you. Moreover, I think it is really out of logic for me to keep enjoying new good food, day in, day out, and for ever.

The restaurant I am going to mention here is a Japanese fast food wannabe, located inside MidVelly, at center court. The presentation is quite nice. Youngster kind of like the place.

It might due to my nature of work. When I go to a restaurant, I tend to look into their cutlery and plates, to check the cleanliness. For this shop, I was quite upset to find food residue on my supposedly clean spoon. It might due to the problem of their dish washer, or maybe strength of detergent. I dun think we should accept this kind of standard, especially in a nicely set environment.

The red curry noodle I had was very salty. Noodle was well prepared, but it could not satisfied my soul.

I had also a set dinner. Unfortunately, my mussels were pre prepared for far too long. They had been lying there for hours, without any attention. Thus, I had cold and tough like plastic mussels.

Other stuffs shown in the picture was at normal standard. No surprices at all

By the way, the ice green tea I had smell chlorine. Wonder what water filter they use.
